“Big Joe” is a retired vocal music teacher. After dedicating 34 years to the students in Greece CSD, Joe enjoys quiet days with a book and his bestie, REN. Pastimes include home improvements, gardening, exploring our beautiful city and county parks, and always looking for stores with the best variety of Milk Duds (his favorite candy!)

Glenda Brayman
Glenda is a retired attorney, formerly employed by the New York State Judiciary. Besides Madrigalia, she sings with First Inversion and Harmonia Antiqua. Glenda enjoys traveling and spending time with family.

Jackie Castiglia
Jackie works in the Payroll Division at Paychex. On the weekends she can usually be found at her lake side cottage in Pultneyville, a very special place inherited from her grandmother. Jackie is an animal lover and has 2 dogs and 2 cats. She enjoys music, cooking, watching movies and Champagne!

Andy Cripps
As a lifelong chorister, Andy is thrilled to reignite her passion by joining Madrigalia! A singer-songwriter, she studied Composition and Jazz at SUNY Fredonia and now devotes much of her time to writing and recording cross-genre music. She also enjoys cooking, sewing, hiking, and nightly storytelling through Table-Top Roleplaying Games!

Justin Doyle
Justin manages marketing campaigns at Paychex by day. Cooking, visiting Finger Lakes wineries and taking his dogs for walks are his favorite non-musical things!

Sarah Engel
Sarah graduated from Westminster Choir College in 2020 with a BM in Voice Performance. She now provides clerical support for Rochester Oratorio Society, and studies with Joshua Bouillon at Nazareth University. Sarah has perfect pitch, and is Madrigalia’s pitch pipe!

Joe Finetti
Avid cyclist, x-country skiing aficionado, and Finger Lakes paddler; when not practicing family medicine or music, Joe prepares I-thai-lian cuisine, his own brand of Italian - Thai fusion. He lives in the South Wedge with his wife, fellow physician Maria Mastrosimone.

Karen Hospers
Karen works as a therapist and supervisor in substance use disorders treatment. In addition to choral singing, she loves spending time with family, traveling, knitting and showing off pictures of her new granddaughter to anyone she meets.

Jim Jefferis
Jim serves as the Madrigalia Board President. He is also the choir director at Fairport High School and enjoys hiking, astronomy, home brewing, and playing piano in his neighborhood band.

Dan McInerney
Dan pops up in choral groups all around town! He is Madrigalia’s Business Administrator, is the tenor section leader at Asbury FUMC, and works for UPS. He has a penchant for bow ties and volunteers with the EI Lancer Marching Band!

Rachel Michalak
Rachel is a mom of four and spends most of her days driving, feeding, and corralling a small circus. In free time she enjoys reading novels, baking and cooking, playing cards, and traveling.

Brenda Nitsch
Brenda taught HS choral music for 31 years and now supervises student teachers at Nazareth University. She is the alto section leader at Asbury FUMC and enjoys several other “side hustles.” Non musical passions include yoga, running, hiking and grandchildren, Martin and Alma!

Megan Ormsbee
Megan recently began work at the University of Rochester, assisting with medical fundraising. When not singing with Madrigalia or the Asbury First United Methodist choir, she loves playing video games, cross stitching, and playing with her puppy Luna!

Cary Ratcliff
Cary hikes, bikes, bakes, and makes his Steinway sing. He reads the first half of science books that are over his head, enjoys photography, friendships old and new, inventing stories for his grandchildren, and creating youtubes to accompany his compositions.

Don Reaves
Don retired as a software engineer in 2019, but has been consulting part-time with a ransomware detection startup, ValiCyber.com. Aside from music, his main hobby is sailing. He teaches courses in boating safety and other specialized boating subjects.

Tara Switzer
Tara teaches music and directs musicals locally. When not at work, she’s loving on her mini pittie Sienna, and her nieces and great nieces! Tara enjoys hiking, photography, and managed to grow some flowers in her garden this year!

Brenda Tremblay
Brenda is the morning host on WXXI Classical 91.5 FM. An NEA Fellow, she produces the RPO broadcasts and serves as music director at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Brockport, NY. Singing is her jam. Some of her best memories have been made with friends in Madrigalia and First Inversion.

Amanda Von Rathonyi
Amanda is a collaborative pianist and piano teacher, who recently rediscovered her love for choral singing through Madrigalia. She is an avid runner who also enjoys relaxing on Seneca Lake, reading, drinking bubble tea, and visiting local coffee shops with her husband, Andrew.

Heather Watras
Heather directs the Wind Ensemble and Concert Band at Webster Thomas HS and is the Director of Music Ministries for Fairport Congregational UCC. Heather also performs as an oboist and as a singer/dancer with Nik Entertainment. She loves cooking, shopping, gardening, and hiking with her husband and dogs Otis & Olive!
